Wes Parsons (Jackson State) improved to 4-0 and the Border Cats banged out 12 hits in a 10-0 victory over the Duluth Huskies Sunday at Wade Stadium. Parsons fired a four hitter over eight innings with three strikeouts and three walks as he tied for the league lead with his fourth win. Thomas Rogers (St. Scholastica) completed the shutout by pitching a scoreless 9th inning. Ryan Casillas (Central Arizona) went 2-5 and cracked a two-run home run in the 3rd inning, his first of the season. Scott Donley (Indiana) raised his average to .342 as he had a 3-4 night at the plate with a double, two runs scored and two runs batted in. Cory Kay (Houston) added two hits and Philip Lyons (Nicholls State) drove in two runs with a pair of sacrifice flies. The Cats (9-10), conclude their five game road trip Monday night in Duluth. Blake Fonfara (Lipscomb University) will get the start on the mound for Thunder Bay. The lefthander is 1-1 in four games with a 3.45 ERA. |
